Appreciating what is motivating you requires you to get out of autopilot mode. Do you fully sense, feel the motivations behind what you are thinking, the choices you are making, and how you are behaving right now, this minute? Ask yourself this question: how can I become more sensitive to what is motivating me in the present moment?
Go deep and be very curious about the reasons behind your thoughts, decisions, and actions. Motivations are tricky dance partners. Are they leading you or are you leading them? Gandhi said “Your actions become your habits.” Actions are a by-product of the way you are thinking. Slow down. Be present and search yourself for what is motivating you.
Be okay with revealing motivations that are not good for you and get rid of them. This may require you to become more selfish (self-ful). It may require you to stop tolerating things and people in your life. There may be a necessary change in your environment required. It is okay to know what is a positive motivator in your life and to step away from the negative ones.
Don’t be okay with not being okay. Get out of autopilot mode and direct yourself forward!
