Ever have one of those days that just don’t belong to you? You get through three-quarters of it and you feel yourself saying “What the hell happened to today?”
The letter “f” in the MVG FWD Reframe-work stands for “framing”. It’s a reminder that you have a tendency to frame things in your mind a particular way. In a habitual way. A way that if you are not careful, will set you on auto-pilot and before you know it, the day is over and you’re spent. So you go into numb-mode, mindlessly scrolling while telling yourself it was just a bad day.
What if you started to say out loud what you are feeling the moment you become aware the day is not going so well. Fully stop what you are doing and say out loud what you are feeling inside using full sentences. Connecting the way the day is going with the impact it is having on you.
Then what if you did the unthinkable and just stopped doing whatever it is you’re doing and started doing something that makes you feel good. Not later. Right there in the moment. How many “bad” days could you turn into “good” ones because you took the time to feel it then say it.
Framing: How often am I on auto-pilot mode with no real connection to how the moment is affecting me?
